Picked up another cool lettering gig with Marvel last week. It's not just Chris Claremont behind the story, it's THE Tom Grummett illustrating this baby. I always dug Grummett's work so it was great finally slapping down balloons and SFX on top of his magic.
Picked up Bionic Commando and finished it tonight. It's a zero issue so it was a quickie. Also picked up a new Marvel gig; New Exiles Annual so I'm hoping to blast through that this week. Also have to start Hero Squared #1 and Pretty Baby Machine #2. That's on top of the fifty million trade paperbacks I need to composite and design.
Just finished designing and compositing the next Warhammer trade. It'll take all night upload so I get to begin that in a few hours -- right after I finish compositing the Warhammer Omnibus!
One of my favorite TV shows of all time is now a comic book series written by the creator of Farscape; Rockne O'Bannon. This series picks up right after the mini-series The Peacekeeper Wars. So although the Sci-Fi Channel killed the show, it lives on in comic book form. And I gotta tell you, it's a good read. The characters act like the characters, talk like the characters, everything. Pick it up, you won't regret it if you're a Farscape fan.
Next issue is completed and the start of another crazy week for me. The kicker, in less than two weeks, I got Jury Duty so that's gonna mess up my whole flow of work. It was suggested by one of my clients that I should just go buy a MacBook so I can get some work done. Hey, you may laugh, but I think that's what will happen.
I don't know if it's because I was just in the 'mode' or that bottle of JD sitting near my computer, but I focused on lettering Rest #2 and turned it in the day after I received the script. To top it off, I even laid out Big Hero Six and will have that sitting on Marvel's computer for Monday.
Finished Kathryn and Stuart Immonen's collection for Boom! This book is printed in landscape format but I'm showing the thumbnail cover sideways. Hey, I'm anal like that, need my graphics all in an orderly fashion. Hah.
Finished and uploading the Salem trade paperback as I type this. Man, this is a crazy week. New stuff just got tossed on my lap so it looks like it's not slowing down. Stuff like the next issues of Rest and Big Hero Six, along with Farscape for next week, and the Russian translation for the Warhammer OGN.
I think Stephen Baldwin is one funny dude. I caught him on Celebrity Apprentice last year and wanted him to win. He was actually what kept me tuning in all season. So it was pretty cool to hear he dug the design and lettering work I did on his new comic book series, The Remnant.
